Help your toddler say more, sooner — through the moments they already love! 🌅
My Routines Book is a fun, interactive speech development board book designed by pediatric speech-language pathologist and mom, Ashley Causey, M.S., CCC-SLP. Built for toddlers ages 1–4, it turns the language your child already hears every day — waking up, getting dressed, mealtime, school, and playtime — into real-world communication.
Many late-talking toddlers — including many autistic toddlers — pick up language in whole, meaningful "chunks" (gestalts) tied to the routines they love, rather than one word at a time. My Routines Book is written the way GLPs actually learn: whole-phrase scripts your child can echo today and grow into flexible language tomorrow. Because echolalia isn't a dead end — it's a beginning. 💛
✔ Morning routines — "Good morning," "Let's go potty," "Time to get dressed," "Let's brush our teeth"
✔ Mealtime scripts — "I'm hungry," "Mmm, it's so yummy," "I'm all done"
✔ School + friends — "Time for school," "Hi friends!", "I want to play"
✔ Big feelings + self-advocacy — "I need help," "Stop it!", "Ouch, that hurt"
✔ Daily transitions — "What's next?", "It's time to go home," "See you later"
✔ Written by a pediatric speech-language pathologist (and mom!)
✔ Neurodiversity-affirming — welcoming to autistic, neurodivergent, and neurotypical learners
✔ Inclusive illustrations — kids who use AAC devices, hearing aids, and wheelchairs, so every child sees themselves
✔ Whole-phrase, GLP-friendly scripts toddlers can echo naturally
✔ Evidence-based techniques in a fun, play-driven format
✔ Sturdy, toddler-proof board book built for daily use
🎁 Perfect for: late talkers, gestalt language processors, autistic toddlers, neurodivergent learners, daily-routine learning, and gifts for new parents.

Love this series of books, but don’t love a few pages in this particular book with bad behaviors. “Stop that” “that’s mine” (in a possessive way) we skip over those pages.

The kiddos love looking through it, and I’ve found so many ways to use it during PT. We use it to talk about everyday routines while working on things like dressing, standing balance, getting shoes on and off, transitions, sequencing, and independence with ADLs. It’s a simple way to connect gross motor skills to things kids are actually doing at home every day

We absolutely love My Routines Book! As a speech-language pathologist and a mom, I’m always looking for books that naturally build language into the everyday moments we’re already sharing with our kids, and this one does exactly that. The book takes familiar daily routines and turns them into opportunities for connection, communication, and language development. It’s interactive, engaging, and easy for little ones to follow, making it a wonderful resource for toddlers, late talkers, and gestalt language processors. What I love most is that it doesn’t make language practice feel like “work.” It gives families simple ways to model words, phrases, and functional language during routines that are already happening every day. A thoughtful, practical resource for parents and therapists alike. We definitely recommend adding My Routines Book to your bookshelf!

Such a great book, that is now part of my son’s day. I love that it is filled with many phrases such as requests, comments, and feelings that can help children like my son communicate.

We love it! None have stuck yet as a gestalt but I am also reading with my younger daughter who loves it!
